Adventure to "the last Shangrila" in the magical Kingdom of Bhutan, a beautiful small isolated Buddhist country bordered by Tibet and India. Join Seraphina, master photographer and educator for a 15 day PHOTOGRAPHY EXPEDITION photographing in amazing Bhutan, the land of the Thunder Dragon. Photography on location and in the landscape will be the focus during this two week photography and Cultural Tour of Bhutan. Most people speak English and love to have their photo taken, even the monks in monasteries. During your visit to Bhutan you are treated as a guest not a tourist and feel very comfortable in this country with a national motto of "HAPPINESS."

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

Students will learn how to document this amazing Buddhist country through the language of photography. Camera techniques, pre-visualization and composition will be demonstrated. Instruction on action photography will help you learn how to capture the moment by anticipating the action and practicing precise timing.

We will attend and photograph an ancient costumed Bhutanese festival in Paro and Chukka where song and masked dancers reenact religious ceremonies for the local people. We will photograph ancient temples, dzongs (castle fortress), monasteries, terraced hillsides, virgin pine forests and pristine rivers, local market places, weavers and painters and remote villages.
